محددات السلوك الإنجابي في المناطق العشوائية : بحث ميداني على عينة من الأسر في محافظة السويس

Abstract EN

The current research aims at discovering the nature of relationship between the reproductive behavior, the components of urban infrastructure, the style of living in the slums in the province of Suez, and the cultural social characteristics of the population.

The research started from various theoretical interpretations psychological, biological, social and economic and the culture of poverty.

The study depends on the social survey method and uses a questionnaire as a tool of collecting data.

The unit of the study was the family and the sample of analysis consists of 115 families of the resident families in the slums in the city of Suez.

The research has come to set of results, may be the most important of them is the low population characteristics between the resident families in the slums like the high rate of illiteracy.

These conclusions assure the continuity of dropping out of education and backing to illiteracy.

Also it proves the low age of marriage, multiple chances of pregnancy, frequent childbearing, high proportion of poor people, low income of husbands and wives.

Moreover it is observed that most of the sample members live in a mean house of only 50 meters.

The percentage of achieving these results is nearly 86% which confirms the following: poverty and lack of housing of the people of the study sample, the increased rates of overcrowding, the spread of congestion culture and the lack of privacy.

The study consists of five chapters; the first chapter presents the procedures of the research.

The second chapter is about the shared characteristics of the slums populations and how far they are related to the reproductive behavior.

Chapter three includes the culture of the slums in the light of the field studies.

Chapter four is devoted to data analysis.

And the final chapter states the general results of the study and recommendations for further readings.
