Abstract EN

This study aims to use rasch model in constructing an achievement criterion referenced test (CRT) in educational psychology course.

To achieve this goal, the researcher constructed a (50) multiple choice items test in that course.

cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was (0.87).The researcher applied the test to a sample of (246) students from Umm Al-Qura University, enrolled in educational psychology course, during the second semester of (1433-1434 AH) corresponding to (2012-2013).

The computer program (B1LOG-MG3) was used in verifying Rasch model assumptions, and in the estimation of the test items parameters.

The study results indicated the verification of Rasch Model assumptions, (25) items of the test fit that model, while (25) items were deleted.

Test reliability according to item response theory was (0.92), and the items difficulty parameters ranged between (-0.698) and (0.570), indicating that the test is of medium difficulty.

This study is important because it describes the mechanism of constructing achievement tests according to modern test theory which others can follow.
