Abstract EN

This study aims to detect differences in the performance of executive functions tests that measure skills (planning, mental flexibility, response inhibition) between autistic high function performance and mild intellectual disability children.

Also, the study examined the relationship between each of executive function dimensions and other dimensions test of executive functions.

The study sample consisted of children with high functioning autism, who were enrolled in intellectual education institutes and autism centers in Medina and Jeddah (15 of both sexes), and children with mild intellectual disability enrolled at the Institute of Intellectual Education, and the private centers for special education in Medina and Jeddah (15 of both sexes).

From 11-16 years.

This Ages range from study used the High-Functioning Autism Spectrum Screening Questionnaire, Tower of London’s Test for planning and flexibility, and Stroop Color & word Test, to measure response inhibition.

The study showed statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the average performance of the two groups in the two tests of tower of London and wisconsin for the benefit of children with mild intellectual disability.

Results also revealed statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the average performance of the two groups in stroop test for the benefit of children with high functioning autism.

While the dimensions of executive functions (planning, mental flexibility, response inhibition) in both of study groups were significantly correlated.
