The article aims at shedding light on the Algerian economy and its analysis during the period (2012-2016), which witnessed successive collapses of oil prices starting from the last six of 2014, and this collapse led to the worsening economic situation in Algeria, which relies heavily on the oil sector.
The decline in some macroeconomic indicators, in addition to the study of the economic diversification index by calculating the "Herfindahl-Hirschman" equation and the drop of the equation on some macro variables.
The study concluded that there is a large weakness in the indicators of diversification in the Algerian economy
