This research aims to identify the financial liberalization procedures, focussing on when and how this last was implemented by Algeria, and it clarifies the effects on the Algerian financial system in two sides general and the financial market.

The study shows the contribution of the partial liberalization of this sector and that it was one of the most important reasons that helped to establish it.

However, due to a number of obstacles, this market was unable to perform as it should be.
