This paper aims at overcoming violent extremism.

Algeria has long been suffering from the phenomenon, but it was a success in going through and as result it gained experience in fighting extremism.

Within such context, The Algerian security strategy is based on many determiners some are historically inherited, and others are imposed by new facts according of course to the nature of the threat itself.

This strategy is trying to bring together the military framework with the prevention procedures.
