Abstract EN

The Military coup attempt in Turkey in July, 15, 2016 is considered an important historical event for most researchers in Turkish affairs saying that military coups in Turkey have gone forever due to the constitutional reforms done by the AKP.

The paper is divided into three sections.

The first is talking about army’s intervention in Turkish policy.

The second is about military reforms.

The third is about the coup itself, its causes and results.

At the end, this paper comes out with important conclusions, one of them is that the military intervention in Turkey is a significant feature in Turkish political life and this feature will stay till democracy will be applied with its real form.
