Abstract EN

The purpose of this study was to explore the differences in language among students with Down Syndrome according to gender and chronological and mental age in Kuwait.

The study included 40 students (19 males, 21 females) with Down Syndrome.

The following tool developed by the researcher was used: Receptive and Expressive Vocabulary Pictures Test.

The result showed there was a statistically significant correlation between the receptive and expressive vocabulary of students and their chronological and mental age.

There were no statistically significant differences between males and females on each of the dimensions of language problems.

In addition, results showed that receptive language was better than expressive language with the more use of verbs form than nouns and adjective in comprehension and production of words
