Abstract EN

This study aimed at investigating the effect of cognitive-behavioral counseling program in improving resilience among a sample that consisted of (24) students with chronically ill parents aged between (18-21 years) were randomly divided into two equal groups: the experimental group whose members received a counseling program based on cognitive behavioral therapy approach, and the control group whose members did not receive any counseling program.

The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the average performance of the two groups: experimental and control, on the remote measurement and for the benefit of the experimental group members, indicating the effectiveness of the indicative program.

The results also indicated that there are no statistically significant differences in the performance averages of the two groups: experimental and control on sequential measurement.

The study concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: the preparation of programs aimed at developing mechanisms that promote adaptation among individuals who are in great distress
