English Abstract

Technology-based innovations in financial services (financial technology) are evolving rapidly.

As they emerge, there will be opportunities and risks for financial stability that should be considered by policy makers, regulators and supervisors.

This is especially important because many innovations have not yet been tested through a full financial cycle.

Decisions at this early stage may take precedents.

Policymakers should continue to assess the adequacy of their regulatory frameworks, such as the adoption of increased financial techniques, with a view to leveraging benefits while reducing risk.

In this regard, the analysis focuses on perceived risks.

However, international bodies and national authorities should consider taking into account their current risk assessments and regulatory frameworks in the light of their rapid development.

Indeed, many authorities have already made organizational changes to adapt to financial technology activities
