The aim of the present study is to attempt to improve the personal and social adjustment among the intellectually gifted students in the middle school in Kuwait through assessing the effectiveness of a counseling program that aims to improve adjustment level.

The problem of this study is to confirm the efficiency of this counseling program in promoting the personal and social adjustment among a sample of mentally gifted students in the sixth grade in Kuwait.

The sample included (50) intellectually gifted students from the sixth grade, which were divided to equal experimental group, and control group.

The first one was exposed to the training program, while the other one did not.

The study instruments comprised consecutive matrices test for Raven standardized by Fatheya Abdel-Ra’oof (2006), personality test for the middle school, developed by education ministry in Kuwait (2004), and the proposed program, which the researchers have developed.

The results showed that there was statistically significant differences between the pre and post assessment of the personal and social adjustment with its subdimensions, in the experimental group, in the direction of post assessment.

This finding indicates that the program is effective in promoting adjustment among the sixth grade students, and that gifted students particularly need these counseling programs to a great degree.

The study recommended that it is necessary to provide students of faculties of education with the knowledge of the gifted students nature, qualities, and characteristics, to establish psychological counseling and guidance centers as a part of different educational districts; and to provide the adequate school environment which offer the opportunities to integrated development, and hold seminars and counseling programs that raise parents’ awareness with their children needs and talents.
