Abstract EN

The study aimed at reducing the psychological stress felt by mothers of deaf blind children.

The research sample consisted of 10 mothers of deaf blind children.

The researcher used a scale (developed by the researcher, El-Sartawy 1998) to measure the psychological stress felt by mothers of deaf blind children.

The researcher prepared a guidance program to reduce the psychological stress which mothers of deaf and blind children felt.

The results showed that there were statistical differences in median ranks among mothers before and after program application on the psychological scale in the direction of post scale results.

There were also statistical differences in median ranks among mothers in the post scale measures and follow up measures, in the direction of follow up stages of the guidance program.

The study recommends that research centers play special attention to deaf blind children.

It also recommends that directed programs should be created for them in education departments in education faculties.

Training should be given to workers in the field.

Social and financial support should be provided to parents of deaf blind children.
