The stud: jerceivei 30tb Row T.npfll rnmmiinitv and Tourists in Umm Oais Perceive Domestic Tourism ? both tounsts and local community witn regard to tne economic, sociocmiurai, ano environmemai impcn-ia uuuicsuy munsm in Umm Qais.

Primary data were collected through a questionnaire that was distributed among 121 tourists and 121 citizens of Umm Qais.

Both samples agreed on the importance of tourism in enhancing the national sense and loyalty, mcreasmg the cultural aspects of the society, reviving and conserving heritage and folklore, enhancing citizen awareness of new cultures, and conserving archaeological sites.

The study recommended formulatmg a clear policy backed up by specific applicable courses of actions that contribute to organizing domestic tourism in Umm Qais and maximizing the achieved beneiits lor tourists and local community as well as other parties concemed in the area.

It also suggested the need for implementmg a comprehensive study to identify the needs of the area in respect of small tourism projects with their feasibility studies, and exerting more efforts to develop the area touristically through the right legislation to organize the tourism flow and investment in the area.
