Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to develop the verbal communication skills of autistic children using the Pecs image exchange method and its impact on their social behavior.

The study sample consisted of (14) autistic children ranging in age from (5-7 years), of which (8) females, (6) males of autism children suffer from weakness in verbal communication, which in turn affects their social behavior.

(7) children and a control group consisting of (7) children from centers with special needs in Ismailia, with an average age of (6) years.

The study used the semi-experimental approach and the application of the study tools and the comparison between the two groups.

The study found an improvement in the verbal communication among the experimental group children, which in turn affects their social behavior, indicating the effect of the program on the children of this group.
