This study was conducted to identify the extent to which educational supervisors possess essential technical skills in today’s knowledge society.
The paper also sought to determine any statistically significant differences at the significance level of (0.05) which can be attributed to the variables of gender, professional experience and technical training programs.
A survey of 28 items grouped into three main areas was administered to a population sample of 61 educational supervisors (males and females) in the city of Arr’ar in the Northern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Findings revealed an overall low average of technical skills relevant to the usage of computer programs, as well as a medium level of those related to the use of internet and hi-tech devices.
Results have shown no statistically significant differences on the tool in general that can be attributed to the gender variable.
Nonetheless, findings revealed statistically significant differences pertaining to the use of internet and computer programs in favor of females.
The study recommends allowing educational supervisors to follow training programs on the use of educational technology.
In addition, the paper recommends a similar study in a different geographical area for comparative purposes and the validation of current findings.
