English Abstract
This study aims to investigate two novels Animal Farm by George Orwell(1945) and Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll (1865), in terms of their employment of literary devices, and comparing between the political, social and philosophical aspects of each novel, in addition to determining the impact of each novel on children’s literature.
The researcher used the descriptive analytical method in the analysis of the two narratives to reach the conclusions, which are that both writers used literary devices in their own way; and the researcher found that Orwell relied heavily on allegory and personification, while Carroll relied on fantasy.
The researcher also confirmed that the Animal Farm is a political novel, while Alice in Wonderland is purely a fictional novel, and both novels have a relatively different impact, for Alice in Wonderland was more influential on children’s literature than Animal Farm.
