English Abstract

Many initiatives nowadays are guiding the healthcare informatics vendors and Health Authorities to build informatics solutions on the cloud that can be accessed and shared between several health service providers and stakeholders.

Building a healthcare system on the cloud has been enormously needed because of the tremendous advantages and various features, which are provided by the cloud technology and its continuous updates.

This research is introducing an innovated Healthcare IT Cloud model, especially designed as a complete healthcare informatics solution over the cloud.

It can be used as a technical and business framework by any Health Authority in any country or region or by any health solution provider, to provide this solution for health service providers through a subscription business model.

HealthGate Cloud is a model of centralized enterprise healthcare information system and data sharing between all participated healthcare providers (hospitals, medical centers, private clinics, laboratories, radiology centers, pharmacies, etc.) and health services stakeholders (patients, insurance companies, health authorities, regulators, etc.), which makes them all as if they are one big hospital having one single repository and database for all patients’ health records.

This model enables any health institute to subscribe for this cloud solution in order to have a comprehensive healthcare IT solution that digitizes all services provided in any healthcare institute, and automates its daily workflow to be transferred into fully paperless environment, without any upfront investment of owning the whole solution by using Pay- Per-Patient payment model.

All subscribers will be able to utilize the interoperability environment of the shared patients’ health records repository, which can be accessed by authorized healthcare stakeholders and by patients themselves who will be having maximum control on their personal health records.
