Abstract EN
Iraqi EFL college students when they write argumentative essays and perform argumentative speech acts.
The CT program has been employed and made use of to carry out the study.
The study aims at exploring the teachers' role to promote the students oral argumentative discussion.
The present study also aims at finding out the effect of the CT on Iraqi EFL university students’ performance The differences between the EG mean score that is taught by the proposed CT program , and that of the CG mean scores that is taught by the conventional way .
uIt id very useful to Researchers , exports in ELT , and Curriculum designers for reviewing the available textbooks in order to add courses in CT, EFL teachers to enable them to have a better understanding of the concept of CT and its effect in teaching , and Iraqi EFL students in guiding them to be critical thinkers by having a perception and application of CT.
