Abstract EN

The study aimed at revealing the attributes of women in the Jordanian popular proverbs from an Islamic educational perspective.

This took place by focusing on presenting the indications of popular proverbs on the Holy Qur'aan and the Sunnah, to evaluate these proverbs according to them.

To achieve their objectives, Accordingly, they came out with a number of results the most prominent of them is the following: There is a number of popular proverbs that diminish the value of woman and strengthen her inferior position in comparison to man.

Popular proverbs additionally contribute to produce of the first mental conception of a person attributes in various aspects the processes of criticizing, evaluating, and modifying The study took its significance to detect perceptions of woman attributes through revealing the cultural template which is represented in popular proverbs in order to uncover the first cognitive step in a series of correcting the prevailing popular thought.

The researchers have recommended rereading the societal legacies, including popular proverbs in order to purify them of the legal irregularities that impede their belonging to Islamic values.

Accordingly, there should be a guidance of the societal awareness to be sound in thought and methodology.

This could be achieved by modifying social awareness through media, educational sessions and seminars.
