Abstract EN

This research comes within the framework of teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers.

The study focuses on teaching Arabic for special purposes and shows the difference between the concepts of language teaching for general purposes and its teaching for special purposes.

The research highlights the most important features that characterize the design of Special Arabic education programs in terms of: objectives, levels, teaching methods, duration, general topics, as well as the special and general frameworks which govern and supervise them.

The study presents the types and characteristics of these programs and provides samples of them.

It shows the difference between private school and public school students.

The research also deals with the most important international standards for measuring students’ proficiency in language and addresses the methods of teaching language skills, including: reading, writing, listening, and speaking to special education students.

The study focuses on the teaching of each skill and talks about the choice of texts, the strategies of their teaching, the design of exercises and tests as well as the problems that students may encounter and how to deal with them.

It equally attempts to answer a set of questions related to this subject by drawing on the sources and references in this field as well as the researcher’s long practical experience in this area, in addition to presenting application models.
