English Abstract

Charitable associations are characterized by voluntary work, and Waqf is characterized by putting its revenues in unrestricted charitable activities.

Associations, being organized in Algeria by Law No 12-06, come in different kinds - some of which are charitable - and their existence is based on continuous activities.

People who are in charge of these associations should seek continuous financial resources to ensure their proper performance.

Thus, it is necessary to identify the many practical ways already organized by both Islamic Shari'a and national law in which Waqf is of such importance: stated in Shari’a teachings and by amended and supplemented Law No 91-10.

Those practical ways can be either general - mainly by making the inventory of all Waqf properties, preserving them and finding effective ways to invest them – or particular which are based on different connections between Waqf institutions and charitable groups – mainly by implementing effective mechanisms enabling charitable groups to benefit from Waqf revenues, developing easy techniques to join Waqf institutions and charitable associations together.

Such ways among many others that will be discussed in this paper would realize what is needed to make Waqf revenues contribute in supporting charitable associations with financial resources devoted to them so that they will be able to continue their noble activities.
