English Abstract

This paper aims to identify the economic and social role of voluntary charitable work, through a case study of Waqf in Malaysia.

Being one of the most important forms of social work, voluntary charity will be defined along with its aims and importance.

The paper analyzes the role of voluntary charitable work in economic and social development, and attempts to deduce lessons from the management of the Malaysian Waqf, in addition to highlighting its importance in achieving economic and social development in this country.

The study concluded the importance of guaranteeing charitable voluntary work, especially in the form of the Waqf and its contribution in the development of individuals and societies.
