The right of access to information and the extent of opposition to international standards law The world is witnessing an increasing demand of passing freedom of information laws (FOI) .

75 countries have adopted such new law since 1990.

Jordan was the first Arab country to enact it's FOI in 2007.

The study found that after nine years the Jordanian FOI didn't guarantee the flow of information from the government neither to journalists nor to citizens who are the final beneficiaries .

The government didn't pay effective efforts to raise the public awareness on the law .

It didn't also allocate enough resources to make enough training to civil servants who are vested in implementing the law.
