Abstract EN

The text is a communicative fact, to be considered as one, it must gather seven criteria wich garantee to the texe its global unity.

To reach the textuality of any text, it must rely on several linguistic means wich create textuality, some of them are in relation with the text such as(coherence and cohesion ) ; some whith the users of the text (intentionality , acceptability and informativeness) ,and others are related to the surroundings of the text (modality and textuality).

That is why the informativeness is one of these criteria, and one of other textual linguistic fields, it is considered as one of textual criteria by which the communicative function is bounded, as it controls its production and its comprehension, it brings interest in the wake of the transition from the sentences toward the text.

However , when reading ancient Arab books, we can easily identify terms described by rhetoricians according to the right system, which prove that these terms are not a monopoly of modern western studies.

Informativeness of the language is one of these terms which linguistic heritage used among many terms to connect the addresser to the addressee.

This research illustrates the value given by Arab patrimony to the pragmatics and textual research.

We can observe the same imporatnce granted by the Arabs to informativeness and textual linguistics for which informativeness is one of its greatest discoveries.
