Abstract EN

In one of the forms of written response, the postcolonial Algerian novel goes back to and revives the popular legacy which has almost been forgotten.

It has technically reshaped it in a move to legitimize the heritage of the newly coming novel genre through acculturation by penetrating it from within, and by indoctrinating it with local folklore.

It would then be taken up on two levels: the first at the level of the literary genres and the second at the level of the story telling.

In the first place, we find several examples of the harmony with the traditional literary genre, more specifically the folklore such as "el layali" (one thousand and one night) that cemes back in Wassini El Aaradj’ both novels "Raml el Maya: Fadjiaat el layalati sabiaa beada el alf" (Drama of the seventh millennia night) and "Djomlokiate Arabiya".

The same author has returned to another kind of writing which is the art of biography in the novels "Noware el louz" (The almond flowers) and "Taghribat Salah Ben Amer Ezzoufri" (The alienation of SALAH BEN AMER ezzoufri ).

The art of myth, on the other hand, comes back in the novelist’s Azzedin El Djlawji book “Souradik el hulm wa al fajiaa" (The dreams and mourning wards).

In terms of narrative, the function of the texts mentioned above largely fits with the folklore especially the text presented in el layali and taghribah.

It reflects as well popular songs and even ritual, beliefs and popular proverbs
