Abstract EN

The present study tried to investigate the effectiveness of teaching an enhanced unit in chemistry by using web quest strategy to assimilate some of chemistry nanotechnology concepts for first year secondary school students.

The researcher used quasi-experimental approach.

The sample of the study consisted of 68 of first year secondary school students.

Tools of the study included: (A) Web site to learn the enhanced unit lessons; which were designed, (B) teacher’s guide book, (C) Pre-post of chemistry nanotechnology concepts assimilation test.

The present study revealed the effectiveness of teaching an enhanced unit in chemistry by using web quest strategy to assimilate some of chemistry nanotechnology concepts for first year secondary school students.

There are no differences between males and females on assimilating some of chemistry nanotechnology concepts as a result of their learning the suggested enhanced unit by using web Quest strategy.

It was recommended that the need to conduct training courses for in-service teacher training on the application of Web Quest strategy in teaching chemistry and other subjects inside the classroom.

A training portfolio containing the steps of implementing Web Quest strategy for each stage and take advantages of them in novice teacher training.

Focus on the development of different levels of conceptual assimilation for the students in different ages and follow the development of those levels consequently.
