Abstract EN

This paper aims at tracking British attitude towards tribal wars on the Jordanian-Saudi borders during the period from 1920-1933.

This will be achieved through an evaluation of procedures and efforts by Britain to put an end to these wars since Britain was the country mandated over Transjordan according to the League of Nations Covenant 1919 and the decisions of the Treaty of San Remo 1920 and responsible for securing its borders against any aggression.

The study concludes that Britain did not exert any noticeable efforts or impose any strict procedures to control the mutual tribal aggressions across the Saudi-Jordanian borders.

It was the mutual interests of the two regions and the geographical reasons made the idea of borders acceptable as a prerequisite for the establishment of a modern state.

This leads to an end of the state of war and insecurity and eventually both sides signed a treaty of mutual recognition in 1933.
