The current study aims at exploring the role of schools, curricula, and the practices of teachers, in their impact on family cohesion.
The study focused on four educational practices: contextual teaching, problem solving, dialogue, and practicing being role model.
To measure the level of influence of these practices, the researcher constructed a measure of educational practices and applied them to a sample of high school students in city of Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia.
After analyzing the data, it was found that these educational practices have an average effect on the cohesion level of students' families.
On the other hand, the study pointed out that the academic specialization and the type of school have a positive impact on family cohesion in favor of literary specialization in public schools.
The "role model" also has a positive effect on family cohesion among students.
The researcher recommends the importance of including educational programs to all high school sections and different types of school.
The researcher also recommends that teachers should be a good role model for the students.
It was clear from the study that the active role of teachers in the classroom has positive impact on students and their ethics and relationships at home
