Abstract EN

This paper aims to provide an epistemological reading of Irving Goffman's important theoretical ideas by addressing his concept of interactive order, and his interest in the phenomenon of communication.

Moreover it present his theoretical contribution (Impression management, frame analysis theories), within symbolic interactionism, as well as; it provides? a review of the most important criticisms against him.

It also, discuss his ideas by comparing them with other theories (role taking theory, Labeling theory, social mirror concept).

The main aim of this paper is to draw attention of Arab academics to the intellectual and scientific heritage of a great scientist such as Irving Goffman, and to take advantage of his great scientific experience.
