Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the requirements of developing supervisory work in light of educational indicators' system in the Sultanate of Oman and identify the challenges that face the process of development.

To achieve the study aims, a questionnaire of 35 components was prepared; these components were divided into two main domains (first the requirements for developing supervisory work and second the challenges it faces).

The study sample comprised of 117 educational leaders and supervisors at the Ministry of Education and the General Directorates in all Governorates.

The study findings show a very high score for the importance of requirements to develop supervisory work, the sample's rating on the availability of administrative requirements were of a low score while a medium score was predicted for the challenges.

Based on these findings, the study proposed some suggestions.

Among these suggestions setting measuring standards and indicators for supervisory work.

The study also proposed a set of suggestions that could help in limiting the challenges that face the process of development of supervisory work, including addressing the shortcomings of the Internet and its related services.
