Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the role of the educational supervisor in the professional development of science teachers, in addition to exploring his/her supervisory role in light of some variables.

The random sample of the study consisted of 243 science teachers from the public schools affiliated to the General Administration of Education during the academic year 20172018/.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher developed a questionnaire that consisted of 54 items.

Its reliability and stability were verified.

The results showed that the educational supervisor has a great role in the various aspects of the professional development of the science teachers.

The results also showed that the assessment of the role of educational supervisor in the professional development scored higher among secondary school teachers, and those who possess postgraduate qualifications in addition to the teachers of Intermediate and advanced experience.

In light of these finding some recommendations were presented.
