Abstract EN

This study aimed to develop a scale of family support as perceived by schoolchildren and draw out its psychometric characteristics.

The scale consists of a specific image for each one of the parents.

The sample of study amounted to 100 male and female pupils from 4th and 5th elementary grade in Algeria.

The scale validity was verified by content and internal consistency validity method using descriptive survey method.

The ratios agreement on the scale were (87.50% and 100%) and the Correlation coefficients between each dimension and the total score in both pictures were (0.81 and 0.88) which are a high correlation coefficients.

The scale reliability calculation was by Cronbach - Alpha - coefficient and Split - Half - method.

The Cronbach - Alpha - coefficient in mother's image (0.87) and father's image (0.89) showed a high reliability coefficients and was confirmed by Split - Half - method.

The researcher recommends the adoption of this measure as an indicator to measure family support provided to the pupil.
