The East-West dialogue is an issue whichdeservesgreat attention.

This concern has been reflectedthroughout the manywritingsthat express differentviewpoints about thissubject.

Whatisappealing in the presentattempt, however, isthat the globalization impact on this dialogue is considerably taken into account, for the latter requiresseveral conditions which must befulfilledsothat to be effective and to achieveits objectives.

Dialogue among civilizations presupposes, at least, the recognition of cultural diversity, whichisinconsistentwith the idea of globalization and its goals.

This meansthat the dialogue of civilizationsislocalized in the field of cultural diversity/globalizationdialectic –a problematic which is worth serious pondering.
