This study aimed at identifying the reality of voluntary work in Palestinian NGOs, and its role in enhancing community responsibility.

The study population consists of the employees working in the NGOs, which involves six institutions, deliberately chosen within certain criteria in the field of voluntary work in the city of Ramallah.

The number of employees was (550), while the sample was (244) employees, selected in a random stratified manner.

The researchers used the descriptive analytical approach The study found the following results, the most important of which are: the response of the study sample was, to a large extent, on areas of the voluntary work (social, educational, scholastic, environmental, health and disasters), as well as a large degree of response on areas of community responsibility (local community, employees, and the surrounding environment) The study also showed the existence of a positive correlation between the areas of (reality of voluntary work / social, educational, environmental, health and disasters) and the reality of community responsibility (local community, employees and environment) In light of the study results, the researcher suggested a number of recommendations, the most important of which was the need to raise awareness among members of the community about the importance of voluntary work carried out by the NGOs in the Palestinian society.

That is due to its importance to individuals and community in the current conditions related to social, health, educational and environmental areas.

In addition to its necessity to achieve integration in the services provided to the members of the community and to promote the culture of voluntarism among members of the Palestinian society by focusing on the school students.
