Abstract EN

The study problem is crystallized through the social reality where the researcher lives in and through reviewing the scientific heritage and review of literatures; there have been several studies have tackled with security awareness in Arabic and foreign states in general but none as- far- as the researcher knows has tackled with these variables: security awareness- the social media- adolescents.

Hence, the study problem could be reflected in this main inquiry "what is the role of social media in reinforcing the national awareness of adolescents? From this major inquiry, minor questions are evolved.

Significance: enriching the present theoretical studies concerning the social media sites in spreading out security awareness, examining the relationship between the media and security content proposed by these social media sites and the security awareness of adolescents, the study is significant for the significant age stage it deals with, namely, adolescence, for being the stage in which a person is forming personality, thoughts, and attitudes, and this study attempts to cope with the new developments on area that affect society in general and adolescents in particular.

Objectives: identify the role of the social communication sites (social media) in reinforcing security awareness of adolescents, identify the rate of logging in of adolescents to these sites, monitoring the most intensive times of logging into those sites by adolescents, and exploring the content of the sites preferred by adolescents.

Study type: it belongs to the qualitative type of studies.

Sample: it consists of 400 users of the social media of adolescents aged (15- 18) yrs.

Old from universities of (Ain Shams University- October 6 University), the analytical sample consists of a survey of content of the social media Facebook- YouTube of ministry of interior as study sample.

Instruments: content analysis form, and questionnaire form.
