If some one in Algeria look with satisfaction to Algeria's oil wealth, and the huge reserves that contribute to improving economic conditions, the majority of public opinion is looking the other way, and is looking forward to an economic development achieved mainly to reduce the share of oil products in the gross output of the country, Not increasing, Public opinion aspires to make a shift from the "rent economy" to "production economy." The current study attempts to examine the role of the collapse of oil prices in the adoption of Algeria's strategy to diversify exports outside the hydrocarbon sector, to reach an optimal diversification portfolio, and build a sustainable economy.
