This article addresses an important and sensitive topic concerning martyr Ziane Ashour and his prestigious role in the establishment of the army and the Sahara region, during the first phase of the revolution.

He was an old fighter in the national movement and the experienced commander of the Sahara region that has become a Wilaya after Soummam Conference.

In this article we try to expose the critical periods in the struggle of the martyr, and refuse the Messalist’s accusations to the man using memoirs of his companion Major El Tayeb Ferhat Hmida.
