This study aimed to identify the relationship between quality of life and optimism in a sample of Ph.

D.

students, in addition to trying to detect the possibility of differences in quality of life and optimism that may be attributed to the variables; especially gender and field specialization.

The sample of the study consisted of 57 Ph.

D.

students were selected deliberately.

To achieve the objectives of the present study, we used two measurement scales: Life quality measurement scale, and optimism measurement scale.

Following the descriptive approach used in the study, we reached the following results: - There is a statistically significant relationship between life quality and optimism of Ph.

D.

students, - There were statistically significant differences in life quality of Ph.

D.

students according to sex and field specialization variables, - There were no statistically significant differences in the level of optimism among Ph.

D.

students according to sex and field specialization variables.
