In the context of post-cold war changes, there has been an increasing interest in energy resources which have become considered as geopolitical goods of wide consumption and multiple usages.

Such growing importance has not only made them of strategic significance for different states, it has also turned them to a main source for tensions and conflicts.

That is why any change in the established chain of sources and supplies would very probably have a long term impact not only on the producing–spaces but also on the consumption–and–demand–spaces.

Such influence pattern might eventually end up even in zero–sum gaming interactions.

Hence, the insisting question is still how will the geopolitics of the Mediterranean energy sources affect the different actors’ strategies?
