Abstract EN

he study aims to monitor the motives of library and information professionals and the justification of their registration in postgraduate programs and obtain academic degrees - both at the diploma, master and doctorate levels - in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The extent of their benefit and satisfaction was also measured.

The study was based on the field approach, based on the withdrawal of a sample from the target society and the selection of its vocabulary according to the non-probability sample (snowball), using the questionnaire as a systematic tool in the collection of data.

The researcher relied on the SPSS package to measure the frequencies and percentages, the arithmetic average and the standard deviation of the responses received from the library specialists studied by the researcher.

The study found that females are the most keen to complete their higher studies and obtain an academic degree in library and information science.

They represent the general motives and the most common reasons for library and information specialists.

As well as the gains and added value attributed to them in exchange for their academic degrees.

The study has led to a set of practical recommendations, including the necessity of planning the librarians and information in Egypt well and accurately during their orientation and their quest to complete their higher studies in order to achieve their goals and gain them as much as possible of the added values to their jobs and scientific skills and their positive impact on them.
