This research aimed at identifying the level of inclusion of reading comprehension skills in the 10th Grade Chemistry Textbook.
The research sample consisted of all texts contained in the chemistry textbook for first secondary grade level under the sub-title: “What have you read'? they were (27) listed in 10th grade chemistry textbook.
The researcher used a descriptive approach with a content analysis method .
Analysis card was designed to be used for analyzing the content.
An instrument was created for this purpose and tested for validity and reliability.
The analysis showed that reading comprehension skills were included with varying degrees , direct comprehension skills were (100%), deductive comprehension skills were (100%) , critic comprehension skills were (63.7%) and creative comprehension skills were (58.02%).
In the light of these results the research, recommendations were presented, the most important of them were more emphasis should be placed on higher level reading comprehension skills In a balanced manner.
