Fruit rot fungi were Tested for Pectinase production,60 isolates were obtained from fruits and vegetable infected with Molds.

These isolates were identified to the genus level and belonged to different fungal genera (Penicillium - Aspergillus - Mucor - Botrytis - Trichoderma - Alternaria - Monilinia).

The isolates were screened using modified Czabek-Dox Agar medium containing pectin instead of glucose as carbon source to estimate their ability to produce Pectinase.

The amount of enzyme production was determined depending on the radius of clear zone around each colony.

Then a secondary screening for the best isolates was conducted to determine the best isolate to produce polygalacturonase.

Results showed that the most productive isolate was Tri4, identified as Trichodermas p.

(enzymatic effectiveness 157u/ml), directly followed by Asp1identified as Aspergillus niger (enzymatic effectiveness 131u/ml).
