The study aimed to analyze the impact of the decline in oil prices on the performance of emerging markets during the period 2010-2016, considering that emerging financial markets are a source of financing and an important alternative to hydrocarbon revenues for emerging oil exporting countries.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the Morgan Stanley Emerging Markets Index (MSCI), which includes 23 emerging markets, was used to analyze the performance of emerging markets before and after the collapse of oil prices.

The study reached several results, the most important of which are: 1.

Emerging markets do not form a homogeneous unit due to their different levels (size and liquidity), which contributed to the difference in their impact on the decline in oil prices.

Emerging market performance declined during the period 2014- 2015 due to the decline in oil prices to improve relatively in 2016 and is expected to improve performance in the coming years.
