Abstract EN

In this paper we discuss the concept of e-government, its importance and its reality in Algeria and the requirements of achieving it through the existence of a clear strategic vision, the formation of the information structure, the creation of the necessary regulations and legislation to achieve effective egovernment and the provision of security and reliability, To clarify the extent of e-government's ability to improve the performance of governmental organizations.

In this study we aim to identify the analysis of the challenges and obstacles of applying e-government in Algeria and propose alternatives and suitable solutions.

In order to identify the references, researches and studies that are relevant to the subject of our research, we found in this research that with regard to the e-government project in Algeria, it faced a number of obstacles that prevent it, The completion of the communications infrastructure, the limited Internet penetration, the specialized legislative aspect in this field and the high costs of hardware and communications equipment.
