Abstract EN

This study Aims to determine the extent to which individuals percepate the importance of political participation in general, and the main sources of formation of their perceptions, and indentify the most important influential factors in this review, as well as monitoring attempts by candidates to commit certain illegal practices - buy votes specifically- and how do voters see these practices, as well as to know how important candidate>s affiliation to a political party or not, and finally, to know the voters> position of the type gender of the candidates as a man or a woman, in influencing their decision to choose and vote for this candidate.

The field study showed that both the visual media «satellite TV» and newspapers were responsible for supplying the study>s sample with knowledge about the political situation in general.

The sample also reported that there are three main factors that affect political participation; educational level, and the economic situation in addition to the availability of appropriate political climate.

The study also revealed the existence of violations and illegal practices present to some candidates to win elections.
