Abstract EN

The present paper studied Al-Buhturi’s and Al-Mutanabi’s eulogies and their depiction of the lion’s battle.

Moreover, it explained the connection between the introduction and the eulogy in both poems.

The study argued that the pictorial motion and the event in the two poems are geared towardsvictory” as they describe the overall ambiance.

The predominant image was the commitment to fght evil and struggle to eliminate it.

This is added to the fact that the poems were linked to the poets’ era.

Despite the difference in the behavioral attitudes of Fath Bin Khakan and Badr Bin Ammar, the two poems were interwoven in a dramatic structure.

Both poets moved from their poetry introduction which shaped their worries to an actual real psychological clash in describing the battle between the lion and the eulogized.

The end of the two poems was “an open outlet to a new imagined clash”
