Abstract EN

The aim of this stody is to introduce the concept of small Size enterprises and to highlight the most important characteristics and the importance of this type of businesses .Moreover it seeks to study the reality of unemployment within the Libyan economy.

In order to describe the effects of small enterprises in the reduction of unemployment in Libya,A descriptive and analytical approach were used.Some economic data, indicators and statistics reports were analysed.The results of this study show that the smallsize enterprises in Libya are mostly individual with a large numbers of both national and foreign workforces.

This could be a solution to reduce the unemployment rate in the Libyan economy.

The percentage of the employees in the Libyan small size enterprises -in various forms- reached an average(%4.05) during the period of the study (2006-2012).This indicates that small Size Enterprises in Libya are important compared to other sectors.
