أثر استراتيجية الرحلات المعرفية عبر الويب WebQuest في تنمية التفكير البصري في مقرر الرياضيات لدى طالبات المرحلة المتوسطة في مدينة الرياض

Abstract EN

This study aimed to examine the effects of using the WebQuest on developing the visual thinking of the female students in the second grade of the intermediate level in Riyadh.

To achieve this aim, the researcher used the quasi-experimental approach with design of two equal groups.

Also, the researcher designed an educational site for the engineering and spatial reasoning units from the mathematics course of the second level in the intermediate level the first semester, and they were designed according to WebQuest strategy.

The tool of the study consisted of an electronic exam on the visual thinking skill via WebQuest designed by the researcher.

The exam was applied on a sample of (40) female students from the second grade of the intermediate level, which was randomly chosen and equally distributed between the controlling and the experimental groups.

The study found the following: There were significant statistical differences on the significant static (0.01) between the averages of the Second grade's students for both groups; the controlling and the experimental in the visual thinking exam.

The differences happened in these skills: (Shapes analysis, shape linking relation, awareness and ambiguity analysis); this happened for the sake of the experimental group because of the independent variable.

In the light of the results, the researcher proposed some recommendations; the following are the most prominent: Using the strategy of Cognitive Tours through web in teaching different mathematical topics which require developing the visual thinking skill, training the supervisors and teachers to design lessons depending on the strategy of cognitive tours on the web (WebQuest), and enriching the Mathematics curriculum by the skill of visual thinking according to the student's needs, their society's requirements and life challenges.
