Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the Autonomy behavior and its relationship with creative abilities among secondary school students in Nazareth area in light of gender and grade level.

The study sample consisted of (236) male and female secondary school’s students in Nazareth area, Palestine for the second semester of the school year 2015/ 2016.

To achieve the objective of the study, the study used the Autonomy Behavior Scale developed by Roth, Assor, Kanat-Maymon and Kaplan (2006) and the Creative Abilities Scale developed by Kaufman (2012).

Validity and reliability for both scales were obtained.

The results showed that level of Autonomy behavior and creative abilities among secondary school students in the Nazareth area were moderate.

The results showed a statistically significant positive correlation between Autonomy behavior and creative abilities among secondary school students in the Nazareth area.

The results showed statistically significant differences in the level of Autonomy behavior among secondary school students due to gender, in favor of females, there were no statistically significant differences in Autonomy behavior among secondary school students due to grade level.

There were no statistically significant differences in creative abilities level among secondary school students due to gender and grade level.

There were some recommendations including the need for promoting Autonomy behaviors and creative abilities among secondary school students to be more than the moderate levels reported in the current study
