Abstract EN

This study presents a view of how genetics and genomics can contribute to the objective of the preservation of lineage and the purity of bloodlines, based on Sharia principles.

The study concludes that genetic testing (DNA paternity) should be employed to know the true lineage whenever this mechanism does not negatively affect the family institution or undermine its efficacy in making society better.

Additionally, genetic testing should be recognized as the only judiciary tool to confirm or negate paternity except in the cases where the child is born within marital life based on a valid marriage contract.
